ABOUT US
OVERVIEW
We, The People Abhiyan is, exactly as the name suggests: about you, about all of us. There is no “them” in our vocabulary. We are a non-partisan Charitable Trust, respectful of all ideologies and beliefs.

Together, we seek to explore these questions:

How do we, as citizens of a free and democratic country, exercise our rights and responsibilities?

How do we practise the core values of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity enshrined in our Constitution?

What is our role in the State?
We believe that active citizenship is a journey, not a point of arrival. Most of us are citizens for as long as we live and just like our lives, citizenship is a work in progress, frustrating at times, yes, but also intensely exciting and engaging.
We seek to include all citizens on this journey; to create opportunities for action and reflection. The aim is to enable each citizen to understand his/her role, act out of power and responsibility and create an impact within their sphere of influence – however small or large that may be.
A MESSAGE FROM VINITA, OUR MANAGING TRUSTEE
Dear Friends,
Since the founding of WTPA in 2010, we've enhanced our capacity-building programs and expanded our awareness-raising efforts to engage all citizens, especially the youth. We have grown our team, and trained more master facilitators, and extended our reach to all zones of the country. Crucially, we've broadened our vision thanks to the invaluable guidance from our community, the support of donors, and the dedication of partners. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for all your contributions to our mission. Together, let's continue working towards creating a society with citizens who are always active and always conscious about our Constitution and the values it enshrines.
