The trustees at We, the people hail from different walks of life with a common passion for governance and the constitution. They all contribute their time on a strictly pro-bono basis.

Alka Shesha
Co-founder of Magic Bus, one of the largest Non-profits in India working to improve lives of children through Sport for Development, Alka has over ten years of experience in organisation building. Currently, she is pursuing pottery as a space that nurtures the self within and inspires spaces without.

Ashwini Kulkarni
Ashwini is involved in a multipronged effort to create awareness among the poor of their legal rights, to train them in dealing with the government bureaucracy to secure their law given rights, and also through advocacy for better design of the government delivery systems with a view to improve the overall implementation. She believes in pragmatic rather than doctrinaire solutions.

Masood Akhtar
Currently working as a Senior Manager with Magic Bus, Masood has more than ten years of experience working with young people from various walks of life. Drawing from his experience of post riots Bombay in 1992-93, he went on to build SAHER, an organisation committed to democratic citizenship and active peace building operating from Jogeshwari East in Mumbai.

Seema Misra
Seema Misra is a lawyer who has been working on the issue of legal empowerment of various marginalised communities for over two decades.

Vikram Bhatt
Vikram has cofounded Essence – a community that focuses on incubating ideas and designs that support a blend of soul, intellect and body work. Amongst other projects, Essence has incubated Coaching for transformation (CFT network) – in partnership with Leadership that works – a learning space that teaches and practices coaching. Vikram has co-created iFlourish – a vitality and health framework used by leaders across the world for developing resilience and wellbeing in their organisations.

Vinita Gursahani Singh
Managing Trustee at We the People; she is also a part time Development Consultant and a full time active citizen. She is a deep believer in democracy and the humanist values embedded in our Constitution. Her main focus, over the last 20 years, has been to build people’s capacities to uphold rights and practice responsibilities within our democratic and constitutional framework. Vinita has an education in management from the SP Jain Institute in Mumbai and in social policy from the London School of Economics

Manoj Papisetty
An ex student of BITS Pilani, Goa, Manoj works as a Networking Consulting Engineer with Cisco Systems. As part of Nirmaan, an NGO which works in education and livelihoods, Manoj has built partnerships with other networks to actively work on responsible citizenship.
